How to make the most of your time at home
The days are bleeding into each other and many people gave up on looking at their clocks ages ago. 2020 is like Groundhog Day come to life, and it’s hard to know what you should be doing with yourself now that all of this free time has fallen into your lap. You’ve had your fill of Netflix documentaries about tigers, and the biscuit tin can only keep you occupied for so long. You’re running out of things, or at least meaningful things, to do… and it’s driving you up those four walls. But don’t let boredom win. Imagination is a wonderful thing, and it may just be what you’ve lacked in your endless quest for things to do.Here are a few things you can do to make the most of your time at home and feel accomplished while doing so.
Get creative
Have you got a story in you? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to learn how to paint or play the guitar? This is the perfect time to finally get started with a creative project you’ve always wanted to undertake. No matter what age or ability level – now’s your time to unleash your inner artist and get creating!
Catch-up
This isn’t just a good idea to keep occupied – it’s pretty vital. Pick up your phone for a call or FaceTime with loved ones you haven’t spoken to in a while. Life can get in the way of keeping in touch with your friends and family, and this could be your chance to cultivate those relationships.
Start new habits
Every week, aim to become proficient at one virtuous habit. Dedicate some time every day to this one activity until it works its way into your daily routine and becomes a good habit. This could be brushing your teeth for exactly two minutes, morning stretches, keeping a diary, or any kind of activity you want to continue well after the lockdown has been lifted.
Get physical
It may seem like there’s little space to do anything, but following a home, workout regime will have you feeling your absolute best. The best part is – there’s no need for weights or machines. Just a few sets of press-ups, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, etc. every day, and keep building until you can confidently work out for at least an hour. You won’t know yourself by the time this is all over.
